For those that don't know me, here's a look into who I am and the things that make my world go 'round!

What was your first experience with yoga?

MY FIRST  CHILDHOOD EXPERIENCE WITH YOGA AND MEDITATION WAS WHEN I FOUND MYSELF NATURALLY IN YOGA POSES AND MEDITATING TO RELIEVE MYSELF OF HORRIBLE MIGRANE HEADACHES.
MY FIRST ADULT EXPERINCE WITH YOGA WAS RENEE TAYLORS CLASS IN 1990 IN LOS ANGELES. RENEE HAD DEVELOPED CANCER IN THE 60’S AND WENT TO RISHIKESH WHER SHE CURED HERSELF OF CANCER BY ADOPTING A VEGETARIAN DIET AND PRACTICING YOGA.  SHE WAS MY FIRST YOGA TEACHER.


How would you describe your personal practice?

VARIED AND A LOT OFF THE MAT. KARMA YOGA IS MY NUMBER ONE FORM PRACTICED ALONG WITH RAJA AND BAKTI YOGA.  I TYPICALY WORK OUT AT THE GYM THREE TIMES A WEEK AND WALK/ HIKE WITH INVERSIONS AND A LIGHT PRACTICE A FEW TIMES A WEEK. I ALSO DO A GREAT RESTORATIVE CLASS EVERY SUNDAY WHEN I AM IN TOWN. I DO A LOT OF SELF REFLECTION TOO.




What’s been playing on your iPod lately?

EVERYTHING. I A A MUSICPHILE LIKE NO OTHER. EVERYTHING FROM HIP HOP TO SATNAM KAUR. FROM MANTRAS TO MOTOWN.  FROM DANCE TO TRANCE.  DISCO TO DEVOTIONAL CHANTS
I’VE GOT A SOUNDTRACK FOR EVERY OCCASION. I LISTEN TO MUSIC ALMOST CONSTANTLY.




You‘re a T-Shirt slogan.  What do you say?

SHIFTS HAPPEN. FULL OF SHIFTS



How do you practice yoga off the mat?

DONATING TIME AND MONEY TO ANIMAL CHARITIES. DONATING YOGAFIT TRAININGS TO CHARITIES. GIVING AWAY GOODS AND MONEY. 
KARMA YOGA - THAT’S WHERE ITS AT AND THAT WHAT LEADS TO AMAZING ABUNDANCE, HAPPINESS  AND PROSPERITY IN EVERY WAY.  HELPING PEOPLE THAT ARE HONORABLE.

WATER SEEKS ITS OWN LEVEL. DIFFERENT PEOPLE ARE ATTRACTED TO DIFFERENT PRACTICES.

WHATEVER I AM CRAVING IN THE MOMENT. AND A MARTINI SINCE I WON’T HAVE TO GET UP AND EXERCISE.

WHAT POSE EXEMPLIFIES MAYA ?
MAYBE A POSE BALANCING A LAPTOP – CONSTANT BALANCING ACT RUNNING A BUSINESS AND STAYING TRUE TO MY PRACTICE




What did you eat for breakfast this morning? 

PROBIOTIC YOGURT, BANANA, CUP OF COFFEE WITH ALMOND MILK AND LOTS OF NUTMEG AND A HANDFUL OF ASSORTED VITAMINS.





If you could roll out your yoga mat anywhere in the world, where would it be?

I HAVE ROLLED OUT MY MAT ON SIX CONTINUENTS SO I GUESS AFRICA AS ITS THE ONE CONTINENT I HAVE NOT BROUGHT YOGAFIT TO NOR TAUGHT ON. 
ONE OF MY TRAVEL GOALS IS TO GO TO AFRICA ON A YOGA MISSION PERHAPS TO SEIRRA LEON AND BE OF SERVICE




There are only three things on your sandwich.  What are they?

I AM NOT A FAN OF BREAD SO I WOULD SAY:
LETTUCE WRAP WITH SMOKED SALMON AND AVOCADO
NO BREAD


What inspires your practice?

THE JOY AND PAIN OF LIFE – NOTHING GETS BETWEEN ME AND MY MAT
THE ESSENCE OF YOGAFIT:
THE SHEER PLEASURE OF MOVING, BREATHING, FEELING, LISTENING TO THE BODY, LETTING GO OF JUDGEMENT EXPECTTATION AND COMPETITION, GOING AT MY OWN PACE AND BEING PRESENT IN THE MOMENT.

I ACTUALLY WEAR MY SUNGLASSES OFTEN TO BLOCK PEOPLES ENERGY. AT THE GYM, AT THE AIRPORT, ON THE PLANE AND IN THE STREET.
I AM A VERY SENSITIVE CREATURE UNDERNEATH MY MUSCLES AND NEW YORK TYPE A PERSONALITY SO I NEED TO CRADLE THAT FRAGILITY BY KEEPING PEOPLE AT BAY
